The First Challenge

Adult Career Pathway Design
  • Do you have an innovative idea that can transform the lives of low-skilled adults living in your community?
  • Have you ever wanted to test a new idea to serve a forgotten population in your community?
  • Do you want access to national subject-matter experts and coaches to fine-tune your idea while identifying and solving potential challenges?
  • Do you want a shot at $100K to turn your idea into a reality?

If you answered yes to any of the questions above, then the first Minds that Move Us challenge is for you!  Adult Career Pathway Design promotes innovative career pathway programs for adult learners who do not have any formal postsecondary training or education and lack the skills necessary to put them on a career path, especially those with disabilities.

The Adult Career Pathway Design challenges ten diverse teams from across the nation to create innovative programmatic solutions to address common barriers that prevent adult students (26 and over) from entering, persisting and completing career pathway programs.

Open to communities across the United States, this challenge encourages creativity, collaboration and out-of-the-box ideas as solutions to pressing employment challenges and includes a design camp, festival, and coaching to assist in the development and funding of promising practices.

The Adult Career Pathway Design Vision?

By increasing local capacity to start and implement new career pathway programs targeted to adults 26 and older, we will lay the foundation for effective programming necessary to stabilize struggling families, neighborhoods and communities and replicate successes across the nation by disseminating practices with promise.
